Script for TV Spot Voiceover
I have decided that one of the conventions of trailers and TV spots that I want to use in at least one of my trailers is a voiceover.
I have found that voiceovers are quite common in trailers, particularly those from the heist genre. The voiceover is an effective way to deliver narrative information quickly, revealing some of the plot to the audience and creating expectations for the viewer about the film that the trailer is advertising. It also helps position the audience with the film's main protagonist.
I have made sure that the voiceover reinforces elements of my chosen genre, for example the introduction of key characters that are typically found in heist movies.
Here is the script for the voiceover for my TV spot/teaser trailer.
TOM WILLIS
My name's Tom Willis and i'm a thief.
I've put together a plan for the perfect heist. seven robberies in seven days. I can't reveal too many details yet but you'll recognise some of the places we'll be robbing.
For a job like this you need a crew you can trust.
Obviously, I always work with Terry. But we need someone to disable the security systems, a guy who's good with explosives and the fastest man on four wheels. We need a smooth talking hustler to get us those passes and a beautiful lady to turn heads.
It might get tasty but we've got brute strength...and don't worry, of course we have someone on the inside.
Who's going to bankroll it? I've got that sorted too.
Welcome to...The Last Job.
