Poster Drafts Using Photoshop
Now that I've finished analysing poster conventions and I have got together all of the different elements for my poster, I have started using Photoshop to create some rough drafts of the poster. Once I have chosen a suitable picture I will add that and make any inevitable changes.
For now I have just added the textual elements and some logos in the billing block to make it appear as realistic as possible.
Here is the billing block - I have now positioned the logos and the social media links.
Alongside the billing block I have added references to other films in the heist genre.
I have added a tagline that indicates genre but also reveals narrative information.
I have added a review that also makes reference to the heist genre with the use of the word 'gem'.
I have added some stars from reviews, which are often crucially important in helping to sell low-budget British films to audiences in the absence of well-known, globally recognisable A-list stars. I have also added the title of the film, prominently in the largest font.
I have added a release date at the bottom, under the billing, as this is where I found the release date in the existing posters I looked at.
I have put a picture (taken from the internet) in the background just to give me an idea what the poster may look like with an image. I have taken some exterior shots of a number of the galleries that the crew in the film plan to rob, and I may use one of these as my image. If not, I may use an image of one of my characters.
